Food Product Design Partner Series

Consumers around the world are getting back to basics, driving interest in natural and clean-label ingredients, especially when it comes to food colors. Labeling changes in Europe effective July 20, 2010 require warnings that certain synthetic colors, such as Red 40, Yellow 5 and Yellow 6, “may have an adverse affect on activity and attention in children,” increasing an already heated demand for natural colors. Yet, in the United States, certain traditional natural colors, such as carmine and cochineal, also face adverse regulatory, consumer and market challenges.

The right color is critical to product acceptance. This Webinar helps ensure product designers choose the optimum system by examining developments in and usage considerations for natural dyes and the recent availability of natural pigments to replace synthetic lakes.
