LENEXA, Kan.—For the fifth year, Caravan Ingredients took part in the March of Dimes’ March for Babies, raising more than $75,000 in support of the organization’s effort to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Caravan Ingredients matched their employees fundraising efforts dollar for dollar.

Bill McGowan, President and CEO at Caravan Ingredients said: “We are a company of individuals that come together as one team to make great things happen. We embrace our values of Passion, Partnership and Performance in all that we do and this campaign is just another demonstration of our great culture."

According to the company, March of Dimes is particularly important to Caravan Ingredients because together they share one large commonality: folic acid. A large part of the March of Dimes’ mission is to promote the health benefits of including folic acid in a healthy diet. Folic acid plays a major role in reducing the life-long effects of neural tube defects such as spina-bifida in premature babies. Caravan Ingredients is a leading supplier of folic acid to the grain industry.
