Comax Shares Flavor Vision for 2012

MELVILLE, N.Y.—Comax Flavors developed new flavors and flavor combinations for 2012. Based on information gathered from food-industry experts in the Culinary Trend Exchange, the flavors have been categorized into four trends: Ethnic Fusion, Pickled Paradise, Wine Whimsy, and Regional Reverie.

Ethnic Fusion combines flavors from "distant places," according to the company, and includes:     Jasmine Coconut; Curry Mole; Asian Taco; Fiery Mango Pineapple Chutney.

The Pickled Paradise category includes Pickled Mango; Pickled Jalapeno; Kimchi; Pickled Watermelon; Pickled Ginger with Wasabi.

The Wine Whimsy group, the company says, "captures a hint of the essence of the vine from regional locales," and includes Japanese Plum Wine; Italian Muscato Wine; Sauvignon Blanc Wine; Spanish Madeira Wine.

Regional Reverie flavors are inspired by memorable regions of the world: Herbs of Provence;  Lemon Parsley; Thai Basil or Garlic Basil; Ginger Rosemary.
