LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Margaret A. Lawson, chief science officer at D.D. Williamson, will be honored Oct. 14 at her alma mater, UC Davis, with an “Award of Distinction" from the university’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CA&ES).

The award is presented annually to those whose contributions and achievements enhance the college’s ability to provide cutting-edge research, top-notch education, and innovative outreach. Lawson is being recognized among “Outstanding Alumni" for excelling as an industry professional, a mentor to aspiring food science students, and an avid supporter of UC Davis. Nine other people—faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the college—will also receive the award.

“The individuals we honor with an Award of Distinction are great ambassadors for our college," said CA&ES Dean Neal Van Alfen. “It is because of them, and people like them, that UC Davis is so well known, respected, and sought out for talented leaders. We are pleased to give these individuals the recognition they richly deserve."
