Superfruit Workshop Announced for SupplySide West

PHOENIX—VIRGO is offering the workshop “Superfruit Update: Science, Consumers and the State of the Category" on Tuesday, Oct. 11 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. during SupplySide West, which will be held Oct. 10 to 14, 2011, at The Venetian & Sands Expo in Las Vegas.

Speakers will discuss the definition of a superfruit, which superfruits have the most and strongest science, which new fruits to keep an eye on, and what today’s consumers think about the category.

Mark Blumenthal, founder and executive director of the American Botanical Council; Amanda N. Carey, Ph.D., USDA Post Doctoral Affiliate in the Neuroscience Laboratory, USDA-ARS, Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University, Boston; and Tom Vierhile, director of innovation insights for Datamonitor, will present this workshop.
