CHICAGO—A stevia sweetener, from PureCircle, offers manufacturers a proprietary blend for finished products with a well-rounded sweetness and decreased bitterness which is ideal for teas, juices, dairy products, flavored waters and carbonated beverages. The sweetener, Alpha, consists of a proprietary combination of steviol glycosides developed as a solution for products seeking 50 to 100 percent calorie reductions. Following sensory and application development work in PureCircle’s Global Application Center in Illinois, marked improvements were identified versus existing stevia sweeteners on the market. Dr. Sidd Purkayastha, vice president global technical development & support says, “Alpha clearly has an important role to play among our existing portfolio. It is ideal for deeper calorie reductions.
