HOCKESSIN, Del.—Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH), the nonprofit entity behind the Fruits & Veggies—More Matters national public health initiative, has joined with Schoolmenu.com to provide a variety of nutrition information, tips, recipes and kids activities that promote the consumption of fruits and vegetables.
“Schoolmenu.com, and the information offered to schools, parents, and students, is a perfect fit for Fruits & Veggies—More Matters and its mission to increase fruit and vegetable consumption,” said Elizabeth Pivonka, Ph.D., R.D., president and CEO of PBH. “We are very excited to be working together and look forward to the debut of the updated website in August, just in time for the start of the new school year.”
Schoolmenu.com works with school districts across the country to post their elementary, middle and high school menus on their website, including the nutritional content of the items served.  Work is currently underway on an updated website to be launched this fall featuring a new look, improved user-friendly navigation, and lots of fruit and vegetable nutrition information provided by PBH. The updated website will feature a fruit and vegetable of the month, a kids section, as well as fitness and health information from nationally known institutions and experts.
“We are excited to join with PBH as we launch our new and updated website,” said Frank Kohler, Publisher and CEO, schoolmenu.com. “We understand how important it is today to emphasize healthy and positive messages to parents and students, as well as to remind them that fruits and vegetables are a vital component of school nutrition programs. This makes our work with PBH and the Fruits & Veggies—More Matters brand a natural fit.”
