GOED Omega-3 to Receive Vanguard Award at 7th Annual Focus on the Future Conference

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. —Virgo Publishing will recognize the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 with its annual Vanguard Award at the 7th annual Focus on the Future conference, Feb. 16-19 at the Hyatt Regency Gainey Ranch Resort & Spa, Scottsdale, AZ.

The Vanguard Award recognizes leadership that has made an important impact on the health, wellness and nutrition industries. Originally a working group within the Council for Responsible Nutrition, GOED is a trade association that includes 75 member companies focused on omega-3 ingredients and products. The organization has developed a voluntary monograph, quality standards, educational materials and other initiatives focused on the support and responsible development of the omega-3 category.

“We are very grateful for being awarded this honor,” said Adam Ismail, Executive Director of GOED. “The nutrition industry is under much greater scrutiny now, so we hope competitors in other ingredient segments can collaborate on critical issues, like GOED has, to help ensure these markets continue to thrive.”

The award will be given during the award dinner, sponsored by Capsugel, on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Focus on the Future 2010.
