FDA Extends Acrylamide Comment Period

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) extended the comment period for the notice "Acrylamide in Food; Request for Comments and for Scientific Data and Information," that appeared in the Federal Register of Aug. 26, 2009 (74 FR 43134) to Jan. 25, 2010.

FDA is seeking comments, scientific data and information on practices that manufacturers have used to reduce acrylamide in food and the reductions they have been able to achieve in acrylamide levels. Electronic comments and scientific data and information can be submitted to www.regulations.gov. Written comments and scientific data and information can be submitted to the Division of Dockets Management (HFA-305), Food and Drug Administration, 5630 Fishers Lane, Room 1061, Rockville, MD 20852.
