ANAHEIM, Calif.—“Healthy Kids—Healthy You,” a new national health and wellness campaign that helps individuals incorporate their specific health and wellness goals into the foods they choose and prepare at home, was introduced at the International Fresh Produce Summit.

The campaign, which is supported by NutriStyle, Building Healthier America and the American Council on Exercise, will kick off in early 2010 and promote healthier lives for all Americans to help reverse the obesity epidemic.

A central feature of the campaign is the NutriStyle online program that helps people select the foods, menus and shopping lists that fit their health and wellness goals. More than a decade in development, the NutriStyle platform will be available to consumers free courtesy of their grocer and participating food companies.

“Every company and organization in the food industry wants to help consumers make wise food choices within the context of an overall healthy diet,” said Skip Johnson, a long-time produce industry marketing expert and vice president of business development for NutriStyle. “Finally, we have all the ingredients to help consumers achieve their specific goals with the foods they like and the exercise they choose. This is a significant opportunity for the produce industry, which has long been out front in championing proper health and wellness.”
