Full-Service Restaurants See Upswing

CHICAGO—Full-service restaurants saw some sign of improvement in September, declining 6.3 percent in September compared with 12.0 percent in August, according to Technomic.

As noted in its monthly SalesMetrics Report, Technomic also found that sales varied by region. Phoenix, for example, showed year-over-year growth of 7.6 percent, while the Los Angeles market declined 12.1 percent. Likewise, performance trends for types of cuisine varied, with seafood restaurant sales declining -0.5 percent, and steak restaurants declining -12.3 percent.
