WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) has introduced the Dairy Country of Origin Labeling Act. The legislation would mandate a label-based country of origin indication for all retail dairy products. U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) and U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) co-sponsored the bill.
The primary dairy products imported into the United States are cheese, casein and caseinates, and milk protein concentrates.
