WASHINGTON, D.C.—A group of nonprofit organizations, food and beverage manufacturers, trade associations, retailers and others have combined to form the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, designed to help reduce obesity in children aged 6 to 11. A primary goal of the foundation is to educate children about energy balance.
The foundation will partner with other organizations, such as the American Council for Fitness and Nutrition Foundation, the American Dietetic Association Foundation and Girl Scouts of the USA, in order to effectively get its message out.
