MUNDELEIN, Ill.—Z Trim Holdings, Inc., a manufacturer of multifunctional fiber food ingredients, today announced its scientific abstract, “Minimally Processed Soluble Dietary Fiber for Health and Wellness Foods Design and Reformulation,” was selected as being among the "best of the best" abstracts submitted to the New Products and Technologies (NPT) sessions in the Ingredients category for the 2009 Institute of Food Technology's (IFT) 2009 Annual Meeting and Food Expo's Scientific Program.
In conformance with the requirements of the program, the IFT NPT judging subpanel recognized that the abstract submission met the criteria of being new, incorporating a convincingly innovative new technology, and delivering improved performance over competitive items already available. The panel weighed the abstract's relevance against the following quality factors: degree of innovation, practical application of content, quality of abstract, scientific merit, pertinence to IFT member audience, and timeliness of science.
Z Trim Holding's Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Technology, Dr. Triveni Shukla, PhD., author of the abstract, will give an oral presentation in room 201AB at 11:50 a.m. PST on Tuesday, June 9 at the annual IFT meeting in Anaheim.
