Farmers who jumped on the booming organic bandwagon are now giving up their organic certifications, The Associated Press reports.
Costly and labor-intensive, organic farming appears to be losing its appeal as organic foods sales drop, feed costs rise and milk prices plummet. Some organic farmers are giving up their organic certification voluntarily, while others are losing their certification for nonpayment of fees.
