Less than 20 percent of adult grocery shoppers trust food companies to develop and sell safe and healthy food products, according to a survey conducted by IBM.
As reported by MarketingDaily, over the past two years, 60 percent of consumers say they are increasingly concerned about the safety of food products they purchase. Fifty-seven percent have stopped purchasing certain foods within the past two years due to safety considerations, while 49 percent say they would be unwilling to purchase a food product again that had been recalled due to contamination.
