IFT Names 2009 Congressional Science Award Winners

CHICAGO—The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) will present Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., and Congressman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.., with its annual Congressional Support for Science Award at a reception May 12 in Washington.

Selected by an independent panel of IFT members, the Congressional Support for Science Award recognizes distinguished service as legislator, policymaker or advocate for advancing the role of science and technology in food and agricultural policies. The award is presented annually to two members of Congress as acknowledgment for outstanding contributions during the previous year.
