BALTIMORE—A new study conducted at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine suggests a link between the consumption of fructose and increased food intake, which may contribute to a high incidence of obesity and Type 2 diabetes.
The study, published in the journal Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications (BBRC), said Americans' sedentary lifestyles and excessive consumption of high-energy foods over the past 40 years have resulted in higher obesity rates and increased occurrence of insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes.
