PARMA, Italy—The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published its scientific opinion on nanoscience and nanotechnologies in relation to food and feed safety. EFSA’s Scientific Committee concluded that established international approaches to risk assessment also can be applied to engineered nano materials. It also concluded that a case-by-case approach would be necessary due to current data limitations and a lack of validated test methodologies.
