Nature's Path Expand Peanut-Related Recall

RICHMOND, British Columbia—Nature's Path Organic Foods has expanded its recall of its Optimum Energy Bars Peanut Butter flavor due to possible contamination with Salmonella from peanut butter supplied from the Peanut Butter Corporation, which is at the center of the current salmonella food safety case. Affected products as of January 30, 2009 include: Optimum Energy Bars Peanut Butter flavor with "Best Before dates" of Oct. 1, 2009, Feb. 3, 2009 and April 29, 2009, all sold in two-ounce individually wrapped and carry the UPC code of 0 58449 77715. The Optimum Energy Bar products are distributed in U.S. and Canadian retail stores.
