CINCINNATI—The Procter & Gamble Company has reached a settlement with Kraft Foods regarding P&G patents to plastic packaging for roast and ground coffee. The settlement covers pending cases related to this matter between P&G and Kraft Foods. The patents protect technology that has helped to drive the success of the Folgers Coffee brand.

In August 2007, P&G filed suit against Kraft Foods, alleging Kraft Foods' Maxwell House plastic container infringed P&G's patents. P&G and Kraft settled the dispute amicably. The financial terms and the details of this settlement will not be disclosed.
