Food Prices Rise 4% in Third Quarter

WASHINGTON—Food prices increased in the third quarter of 2008, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation Marketbasket Survey. Findings revealed that the cost of 16 basic grocery items was $48.68, up about 4 percent or $2.01 from the second quarter of 2008.
