United Kingdom─Reassuring and important evidence was found about the effectiveness and nutritional adequacy of Slim Fast, Atkins, Weight Watchers and Rosemary Conley’s “Eat Yourself Slim” Diet & Fitness Plan in a new study.

The study found that all of  the diets resulted in weight loss, but there was no significant difference between the diets in the amount of weight lost.

Findings also revealed that people, even when advised as part of a weight loss program, are resistant to eat more fruits and vegetables.

Looking specifically at the Atkins diet, researchers found, despite rumors, that there was little evidence of short-term damage as the result of a low-carbohydrate diet, although those on the diet generally had a decrease in iron, niacin and fiber.
