ATHENS, Greece─ The relationship between anxiety and dietary patterns was examined in a study published in the journal Appetite.

The study found that light dietary patterns in the less-anxious men and women did not appear as distinct patterns among men and women who were more anxious. Women on a “Western-type” diet had two times greater variance of food intake as those who were more anxious. A vegetarian diet was found only among the less anxious women, who also exhibited the lowest consumption of red meat and sweets.
