PRINCETON, N.J.—Few Americans know about the benefits of probiotics, new research found. A study conducted by Opinion Research Corporation revealed only 15 percent of Americans were knowledgeable regarding probiotics and their benefits, while 85 percent said they knew little or nothing about the bacteria.
Industry experts argue that despite currently limited knowledge, marketing efforts have been designed to vastly increase consumers’ awareness.
