Nearly half of overweight people are healthy according, to a new study in the August 11 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine.

The study found that 51% of overweight and one-third of obese adults had normal blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides and blood sugar levels.

On the contrary, nearly a fourth of adults in the suggested-weight range were in the unhealthy range for at least two of the above levels.

Some of authors of the study suggest these findings may indicate that the system for measuring a healthy weight may be flawed. In addition, the findings could help encourage a reevaluation of stereotypes made about health and weight.
