Every U.S. adult could be overweight in 40 years if current trends continue, according to a government-funded study published in Obesity. Currently, two-thirds of the population is overweight.
Researcher’s examined government and survey data from the 1970s to 2004 to predict that, by 2030, 86% of adult Americans will be overweight, and 51% will be obese. In 2048, all American adults will be mildly overweight, according to the study.
