ST. FRANCIS, WI—Wixon, Inc., manufacturer of a comprehensive line of ingredients for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries, has promoted Leda Strand to director of technology, Applications & Industrial Ingredients.
In her new role, Strand will lead the Mag-nifique™ technology applications research by solving customers’ specific food issues using Wixon’s technology. She also will continue to direct product development projects for a key customer.
Strand has 17 years of professional experience, in which she held positions at other established companies, including Baptista’s Bakery of Franklin, WI., Quaker, Gardetto’s and Pillsbury.
Strand received her B.S. degree in bacteriology in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2003, Strand finished her M.B.A. at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She currently resides in Glendale, WI., with her husband, Michael England.
Strand, a native of Appleton, WI., is the secretary for the Wisconsin Institute of Food Technologists.
