The Federal Trade Commission has approved the publication of a Federal Register notice requesting comments on a proposal to collect information from food and beverage companies and quick-service restaurants on marketing activities and expenditures targeted toward children and adolescents. According to the notice, the comments will be considered before the FTC submits a request for Office of Management and Budget review of the proposal under the Paperwork Reduction Act. The notice accordingly provides background on the purpose of the proposal, details the types of proposed information requests, and tells interested parties how and where to submit their comments. Comments are due to the Commission on or before Dec. 21, 2006.
