Cranberry Oil Goes GRAS

05/14/2008

After a review by an expert panel, which included a former FDA toxicologist and two scientific members of AIBMR Life Sciences, Inc., a cranberry-seed oil has been deemed GRAS for use in foods.

The oil, from AHD International, LLC, Atlanta, is 100% natural, non-GMO, vegetarian and stable. It contains eight isomers of vitamin E, phospholipids, and omega-3, -6, and 9 fatty acids.

Previously, the oil was limited to use in nutritional dietary supplements.
