Oh Doggie: Pet Food Recall Widens, Salmonella Sickens 14 PeopleAs three more pet food manufacturers announced recalls of dry dog food linked to a multistate outbreak of Salmonella, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed 14 individuals in nine states have been infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Infantis linked to outbreak. Five people, including an infant, have been hospitalized. |

Cola Wars Heat Up: Applebee’s, IHOP Dump Coca-Cola For PepsiCoPepsiCo, Inc., won the latest battle of the ongoing cola wars by signing a 10-year deal with DineEquity, Inc., to be the exclusive non-alcoholic beverage provider for its more than 1,800 Applebee's and 1,500 IHOP restaurants throughout the United States. The deal will phase out the use of Coca-Cola products by the end of July. |
