Dining in San Francisco, a Recommendation
This past weekend, we flew to San Francisco for the baptism of the newest member of the Weeks clan, our new grandson, Sullivan James Weeks. One of the weekend's highlights was a group dinner on Saturday night. There were sixteen of us who descended on the wait staff and chefs at Chouquet's Restaurant. It was an excellent dining experience from the welcome we received to the end of the evening. Chouquet's is not a highly "posh" eating environment, in fact, it has more of a storefront feel.
The menu offers a wide variety of choices for both appetizers and entrees, as well as an excellent wine list. As is my usual custom, I selected a wine I was not familiar with that had a name that intrigued me. Five Russians Pinot Noir. It didn't disappoint. My appetizer selection was a Goat Cheese Tartlette with Roasted Tomato and Balsamic Sauce. It was unbelievably good. Likewise, my entrée was superb, a Braised Lamb Shoulder that was so tender it did not require a knife, and so tasty that I ate it in small bites to make it last as long as possible.
So, the next time you find yourself in the "City by the Bay" and need at place to eat dinner, I strongly recommend you consider Chouquet's...you won't be disappointed.
