Now that the European Union has joined New Zealand and other Pacific Basin countries in banning the import of baby foods that contain milk from China, and has imposed a new testing regimen requiring all food products containing more than 15% milk powder to be tested for melamine , when will we hear from our own government food safety watchdogs? ...

I think it is time for every U.S. food manufacturer and retailer to search their databases and identify every product and ingredient that has been imported from, or contains ingredients imported from China, and take steps to test them for melamine content. Following up on my previous entry, we did go out to one of the delis that carries Black Dog Gelato, but they were all out of the Balsamic Gelato.
