As noted in a recent Atlanta Journal-Constitution article, sales have rebounded for peanut butter, back up to $78 million for a four-week period in July and August (compared to $67.5 million during February in the wake of the infamous Peanut Corporation of America Salmonella outbreak which ended up tainting over 3,000 products and cost around $1 billion in losses—not to mention killing nine people and causing illness in thousands more…).
