Food Trucks: Trend Tracking on the Move

Although nothing is particularly new about the concept of serving (mostly lunch) fare from trucks, the popularity of the approach is making waves—and the quality of truck-sourced snacks and meals is way up. This street food meets technological buzz sensation (a la Twitter, with trucks tweeting current locations) is on the rise in cities across the country and should now be on the radar of any and all trend-tracking industry folks. GQ recently posted a round-up of top food trucks in the country, and the piece serves as a nice jumping-off point for the category.

As street food continues to make inroads into our American foodscape, the myriad forms it takes—both via venue type and degree of assimilation—will help divine future directions.
