Food Product Design invites ingredient suppliers and technology providers to apply for Food Product Design’s Scientific Excellence Award. We're looking for research-based ingredient or technology innovation. Innovation should be in the form of new ingredient/technology science, a new application, or any research-based breakthrough in ingredient/technology science.

One winner will be chosen by a panel of judges comprised of R&D and product development professionals from leading food and beverage manufacturing companies.

The winner will be notified the week of Sept. 2 and presented an award at SupplySide West, Oct. 22-24, at The Venetian & The Sands Expo in Las Vegas, NV, on Friday, Oct. 24 at 3pm in the Virgo Publishing booth. The winner will receive the following:

• Acknowledgment in a press release sent to Food Product Design readers and SupplySide West attendees, and posted on the Food Product Design and SupplySide Web sites the week of Sept. 2.
• Acknowledgment in the Show Guide and show issue of Food Product Design (October) with a promotional house ad
• Coverage in the post-show review in Food Product Design (December issue) complete with pictures
• Acknowledgement in the post-show press release sent to Food Product Design readers and trade media
• “Official Winner of Food Product Design’s Scientific Excellence Award” graphic to use on marketing materials  

Who is eligible to apply?
Food Product Design’s Scientific Excellence Award is open only to exhibiting companies at SupplySide West 2008. Ingredients and technologies launched after Jan. 1, 2007, and new applications of existing ingredients or technologies that were introduced after Jan. 1, 2007, are eligible.

Process
Food Product Design’s Scientific Excellence Award has a unique significance because the winner is chosen by an influential panel of food and beverage professionals. This award program gives all applicants the added benefit of having your product’s innovative science reviewed by decision-making manufacturing professionals. The panel of judges will review all applications and determine the winner by the end of August. The winner will be notified the week of Sept. 2.
