Economy's a Buzz Kill for Upscale Coffees

Ad Age recently commissioned a poll of U.S. coffee drinkers to find out if consumption habits and coffee choices had shifted due to the downtrodden economy. The results revealed that 56 percent of Americans have scaled back on upscale coffee since Jan. 1 and are turning to home-brewed java to save dollars. Ninety-percent of respondents cited the economy as the buzz kill for their morning cup of joe.
